You had such a great time at the Taste Cumbria Carlisle festivals in 2024 and 2025, we want to come back for more!

We’re just finalising the complicated stuff, like budgets, then we’ll announce our plans for the city in 2026!

We’re in Wigton on Saturday 25 April, then Maryport Taste of the Sea festival is on Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 August. The flagship festival takes place in Cockermouth on Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 September. And finally, we’re back in Cockermouth for the Christmas festival on Saturday 5 & Sunday 6 December.

Getting here

The nearest mainline station is in the centre of Carlisle, around a 10 minute walk from the festival location. There are also good rail links from the Cumbrian Coast Line for anyone heading in from the west of the county, and from the east on the Settle to Carlisle route. Plan your journey here.

The city is also well served by numerous bus routes and you can find timetables here.

Parking

If you are coming by car, on-street spaces are fairly limited close to the festival site but there are many car parks within a few minutes’ walk. You can search for a car park here.

Free fun on offer

Most of the attractions at the Taste Cumbria festivals are free to enjoy. There is no charge for the live music, or for the street theatre, children’s activities and arts and crafts workshops. A small number of events at some of our festivals are ticketed and there is a also charge for the fairground rides.
